Project Overview

INI LHO ITS! 2024 is an annual outreach event by Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (ITS) aimed at high school students across Indonesia. It helps students explore potential academic majors through activities like Open Campus, Campus Visits, and Welcome Day. The platform included a ticketing system with integrated payment methods to streamline registration.

Key Features

  • Responsive Frontend: Built with TypeScript, Next.js, and Tailwind CSS for a seamless experience across devices
  • Team Leadership: Led a frontend team of 6 developers with code reviews, mentoring, and ongoing training
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Worked with UI/UX designers, backend engineers, and product managers to deliver user-centered solutions
  • Quality Improvements: Reduced code-related bugs by 25% and improved team productivity by 40% through better processes and coaching

Technical Approach

The frontend architecture was component-based, with reusable UI modules and optimized performance using static generation and API route handling. The team used GitHub Projects for task tracking and held regular review sessions to ensure code quality and alignment with design standards.

Development Process

Development was broken into weekly sprints. Stand-ups, retrospectives, and stakeholder demos ensured alignment. Design handoffs and Figma integration enabled pixel-perfect implementations while maintaining performance and accessibility standards.

Challenges

Building a responsive and accessible web interface while leading and mentoring a frontend team to ensure high code quality and productivity.

Solutions

Implemented scalable UI components with Next.js and Tailwind CSS, coordinated closely with cross-functional teams, and introduced team practices that reduced bugs by 25% and boosted productivity by 40%.
